Alright so I decided to get the 232 show, that main card is just too good to pass up.

Here are my predictions:

Jones vs. Gustafsson - Gustafsson

Nunes vs. Cyborg - Nunes

Condit vs. Chiesa - Condit

Mendes vs. Volkanovski - Volkanovski

Latifi vs. Anderson - Anderson

This whole “MMA on ESPN” thing is still kinda weird to me.

Anyone want to see Tony Ferguson, Max Hollaway, Khabib, or McGregor fight each other in any type of matchup? All four guys are incredible fighters, there could be some awesome fights between any combination of them.

Well Connor is fighting Cerrone, which is really good. Excellent matchup, really tough fight for both guys. I’m not really sure what’s going on with Khabib, Tony, or Max. But Khabib vs Tony would be good.

Anyone else watching UFC 239? Decent so far. Couldn’t pass this one up: a Jones fight, Nunes vs. Holm, and Askren vs Masvidal. Just too good to sleep on.

I'd thought about it, but the hassle of going back out, only to be dissapointed when my usual hang out doesn't have the show left me in this evening.

Nunes is almost unbearably good. I mean for someone to do that to Holm, a world-champion boxer and kickboxer, is really something special. Nunes is just ridiculously good.

Fantastic card so far, let’s see what happens in Jones vs. Santos

Just wanted to spread the word about Dan Hardy’s Youtube channel, I didn’t realize he had one until a week or so ago. He seems like a really cool guy, the philosopher/pirate/martial artist/psychonaut. A lot of his videos are almost like documentaries on people, really cool perspective that’s different from the average stuff:

These big fights remind me of Keifer Sutherland’s classic line from Stand By Me:

I haven't watched in a while, but I follow Chael Sonnen and his comments on the Cormier vs Stipe fight were intriguing. So Stipe won by KO in the first round?

me2,
5 round TKO. I can't believe DC lost.

I don’t know if I would say he was losing, I thought DC was probably winning just slightly on most judges’ cards and I doubted they’d give it to Stipe by decision. I wouldn’t say I’m surprised he beat DC, the fight easily could have gone either way but I thought Stipe would be nearly impossible to beat twice.

cKc,
The guy that won the fight has challenged all sorts of traditional martial artist to full contact fights. Usually they last less the 30 sec.

Yep. its sad, but most of them are not really Martial arts any more. they are forms.

note for example how the other wing chun fight he did.. the guys wing chun forms lasted 1 second and he started just hitting randomly with no technique at all and no power. once he started the fight, he wasn't fighting with "wing chun' at all

I really wish that someone would have a fighting association that still held to the old London Prize Ring Rules:

It would be epic. Much better than either BKFC or modern boxing.
