Imperial Barlow (Pawn Shop Rescue)

I got this today when I was walking back from the store, I decided to check out the knife selection at the neighborhood pawn shop. This one caught my eye and the price was right:

I plan on restoring and sharpening it. I think I am going to leave the chip in the handles because they are plastic, and also leave the patina on the blades. Most of the work that needs to be done is on the action, it is very hard to open the blades.

Part of me thinks it'd be nice to polish it up again, it'd help with thinning it out, but as long as you can get the action to run smoothly enough I think even patina'd it's going to be nice.

Luis,
Yeah, it is already pretty thin behind the edge, I think it is an older model.

I got the action of the knife were I wanted it, with just a cleaning and lubrication of the knife:

I am not sure how I want to sharpen this knife's blades. I was thinking of using either a set of Arkansas stones (SiC C, Soft Ark, Hard Ark, Dan's Primitive Surgical Black Ark) or using the Japanese waterstones I have. I was thinking of using two different finishes, one type for each blade. A coarse finish on one blade, and a fine one on the other.
