Sorry about resurrecting an old thread. I have just sourced a bunch of Jabroc blocks...35mm by 43mm x 820mm long. They are cross-plied, and the dust smell is only slightly different to the Pakkawood and Pimarli that I have. I am still experimenting with glues, so this Jabroc will be part of the testing for me. I have been using KG Gunkote for over a year now, and I am extremely happy with it's performance on a carbon blade. Gotta bunch of O1 blades with Micarta scales, and I am at the point of maybe having to remove the coating, but only on the blade area. It can only be removed mechanically, such as bead blast etc. But that leaves the newly exposed surface ripe for rust. The handle area wilby Stuart Ackerman - Shill free zone

Cliff I did send an a email to that regular email. As I have explained in this thread, I just need a one-time use gmail address to send money to. I realise that, but it means that with a one time use PP, Cliff can see that all the funds are coming from Edgematters folk, and that way I know that they have paid, and so are ellible for the draw. Cliff would it possible to privately pass me a paypal Address for yourself to receive the all the funds directly from the raffle ticket holders? If I do it all, I might end up with an NZ tax bill for money I never actually "received." Corbet Sigman made cross grain 440C blades a long time back, and he appeared to get more toothy edges. Two of us makers did the same and we got more toothy edges. Hi Kyley I might just take you up on that offer for the Elmax blade. I did the H13, but as sharpening tools with a chisel tip for those folk that insist on batoning knives through wood. My test piece has sharpened a lot of knives in the last two weeks. The grit was 36 but after blasting and nitriding them , they feel like 160 to maybe 200 grit . They still sharpen quite quickly. Hi Kyley... I reminded them today to compile a list and email to me at SSM in CHCH. Elmax in 3.7mm? I am interested a wee bit. I am presently cutting and grinding H13 steel to 2,3,4,5 and 6 mm thicknesses to test for use as a hard use blade. I am able to get 56C Rockwell, but I am playing with HT to get a better result, if possible?by Stuart Ackerman - Bro, do you even science?
