I received an email from Kyley to go the Mod forum, and it says I cannot enter the Mod side of things. Kyley sent me a message I cannot read at the moment No fuss, just confused.by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Kyley Via PM... If you give me your postal address where you are, I will send you a little something to play with... Signed the guestbook... The irony is that I was due to visit friends in St Johns early this year, and Cliff was part of the visit, if he was agreeble to have me visit... Ce le vie... Hi Kyley. Just tried to get hold of you on the phone, and in my hunt, I found that you now live in the Phillipines... All the best Mate... I think that you will miss Cliff more than most of us.by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Bad and sad news! He will leave behind a wealth of infomation, and he will be missed! My best wishes to his family and friends. RIP Dr Stamp....by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Sorry about resurrecting an old thread. I have just sourced a bunch of Jabroc blocks...35mm by 43mm x 820mm long. They are cross-plied, and the dust smell is only slightly different to the Pakkawood and Pimarli that I have. I am still experimenting with glues, so this Jabroc will be part of the testing for me. Quotesal Hi Cliff, I guess I somehow missed that post. My bad. I really respect your devotion to the kids. Valuable and worthwhile use of time. Truth be known, I missed your words of wisdom. We'd love to have you back on the Spyderco forum f you ever have the urge? Do I get t nag you about a Cliff Stamp Syderco collaboration? sal Cliff might remember me suggesting the name....by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Delayed comment...BUT Welcome back, Cliff !by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
I have been using KG Gunkote for over a year now, and I am extremely happy with it's performance on a carbon blade. Gotta bunch of O1 blades with Micarta scales, and I am at the point of maybe having to remove the coating, but only on the blade area. It can only be removed mechanically, such as bead blast etc. But that leaves the newly exposed surface ripe for rust. The handle area wilby Stuart Ackerman - Shill free zone
Sorry Cliff. have they all paid up?by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
All paid up, Cliff... I will do the draw shortly.by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Thanks Cliff people are paying up as we speak. Stuartby Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Cliff I did send an a email to that regular email. As I have explained in this thread, I just need a one-time use gmail address to send money to. It would mean that you would need to tell me that all fifty have paid, so that I can raffle off the Serrata. Edgematters is a troubled forum right now, and might not be around in a week's time, hence my haste. If this is a mission, please telby Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Yup and I have sent an email a week or so back. If I could source his phone number, I would phone it right now. 7-30 am in his time zone. so maybe later on...by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
I have sold all fifty tickets. I appreciate that Cliff does not come here often, so I am in limbo right now.by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
I realise that, but it means that with a one time use PP, Cliff can see that all the funds are coming from Edgematters folk, and that way I know that they have paid, and so are ellible for the draw. If Cliff wants it differently, we can try and work with that. I am trying to avoid a nightmare of working out who has paid, and who needs to.by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Uh Cliff a Paypal address would be good at this stage, please? Please send to to the Gmail, or here in a PM?by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Email sent to Gmail account, Ciffby Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Cliff would it possible to privately pass me a paypal Address for yourself to receive the all the funds directly from the raffle ticket holders? If I do it all, I might end up with an NZ tax bill for money I never actually "received." Plus, there are Paypal fees which will be lost with each subsequent transaction.by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Cliff On the spur oif the moment, I have organised a raffle over at Edgematters, for one of my Serratas... £10-00 a ticket, with 50 tickets... That way, you get hopefully more than an auction, and I do the work... Once the dust has settled, I will send the whole bang shoot to you, and the knife to the winner... Hopefully that works for you. You are really doing a great thing with thby Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Hi Cliff same Windgap address?by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Cliff May I donate a Serrata made by me for any auction that you might run?by Stuart Ackerman - The Wood Shed
Different profile and thickness, though. Or so it seems.by Stuart Ackerman - Things to read in Denver when you're dead.
Corbet Sigman made cross grain 440C blades a long time back, and he appeared to get more toothy edges. Two of us makers did the same and we got more toothy edges. I am now aware that the blades might be weaker, but they were knives, not prybars.by Stuart Ackerman - Under the hammer (or in front of the grinder)
Hi Kyley I might just take you up on that offer for the Elmax blade. I did the H13, but as sharpening tools with a chisel tip for those folk that insist on batoning knives through wood. My test piece has sharpened a lot of knives in the last two weeks. The grit was 36 but after blasting and nitriding them , they feel like 160 to maybe 200 grit . They still sharpen quite quickly. Hi Kyley... I reminded them today to compile a list and email to me at SSM in CHCH. Elmax in 3.7mm? I am interested a wee bit. I am presently cutting and grinding H13 steel to 2,3,4,5 and 6 mm thicknesses to test for use as a hard use blade. I am able to get 56C Rockwell, but I am playing with HT to get a better result, if possible?by Stuart Ackerman - Bro, do you even science?
